Resurrection

5 months since my last entry here.
5 months full of big chances, successes, failures, feelings, new friends, love, achievements, running around, new experiences.
5 months of self discovery.

In one of my earlier entry I become conscious of the tremendous changes that were about to occur once I finish school. But, to be sincere I never thought that things would be so radical, would happen so fast and would be so intense.

Starting from February the main events I have been gone through were the internship in Cluj-Napoca, changing my AIESEC status from active member to Student Nominee (SN) and the Graduation.

The internship in Cluj-Napoca. Right after the classes ended I thought that is a good idea to hire myself in a company, just to get some work experience, a chapter that was completely missing from my CV and a chapter that I had to start writing both in my CV and in my life at some point.

I decided for an internship at a German financial consultancy company. It wasn’t very related with my academical electrical engineering background, but the thing that attracted me most was the fact that the company’s office is not located in Tirgu-Mures, but in Cluj-Napoca, at 100 km from home. I had a three months break until my license exams and I wanted to use this time to travel, to know new people, to experience new things, to be independent, to be free. So a wish really came true.

During the time that I spent there I’ve been through a lot of experiences and I knew lots of interesting people. Here are some of them: Alex O., Andreea, Anna, Andrei, Bogdan, Catalin, Cristina, Daniela, Darius, Delia, Denisa, Duran, Natalia, Michael, Olimpiu, Paz, Reka B., Reka H., Reka S., Sabina, Silviu, Silvana and Volker.

All of them are connected in one way or another with some precious memories and feelings that I have from Cluj-Napoca and will cherish all my life as they are unique: A Forgotten Key in the Car, Botanical Garden, 1st of May in the Office, The “Big Brother” House, Semifinal in UEFA with Steaua, Lavazza with Ice-Cream, Schüco, The Questionnaires, Vogel and Noot, The Bowling Night, The China Affair and the Entrepreneur, Hitch-Hiking, Basketball Challenge in the Kitchen, The King Size Bed, Agape Lunches, The Allergy, Sunny Sunday Mornings, Starcraft Games, The Massage and The Hard Fall!
Thank you guys!

But like the modern proverb says: “Everything that has a beginning must have an end” (Morpheus :) ), the story ends up when I had to choose between this job and my faculty Diploma. Guess what I chose? …My Diploma.
Telling you this let’s move on to the next part of this blog entry.

The Graduation. Although I worked in Cluj-Napoca when I was supposed to write my graduation thesis, with a lot of work and motivation I somehow managed to finish it. I can say that I’ve done a pretty good work compared to the others and I am proud of myself. I’m an electrical engineer now after 16.5 year of school. This is a true achievement.

After the exams ended it was time for the official celebrations. I never expected to feel so good and proud. The whole atmosphere was very positive with all the graduates in the center of everybody’s attention. One particular moment that I will always remember is our walk through the center of the city on the sound of “Gaudeamus” and Tina Turners’ – “The Best”. Outside was 30 degrees Celsius but I had chills on my spine. Overwhelming feelings.

A week after the official graduation, the Banquet came. Together with those who once were our teachers we were passing from the stage of a student to another, in the exclusivist engineers’ gild. This was a welcoming party in this new social status and by their presence they were telling us “Welcome”. It was strange to see our teachers beyond the severe and superior image that they have in the classrooms. They were now just simple more experienced people, looking to have fun and to advice us not about the secrets of engineering, but about the secrets of life that is ahead of us.
That is another moment hard to forget, or to remember, depending on the case. :)

In the third part of this entry I wanted to write about me, leaving AIESEC. I imaged this moment 5 months ago, but now I realized that is just a minor change from the role of active member to SN, which is just another stage of my AIESEC Experience. This is another very interesting story mixed with a lot of feelings and hard decisions that I want to share with you in the next entry of my blog.

‘Til then, enjoy your summer!
